English for Finance and Banking

The Finance and Banking English Programme trains Vietnamese finance and banking executives with the key skills, tools and terminology needed to operate in the competitive international financial environment.

There are three modules. Each one of modules in the Finance and Banking English Programme is designed and delivered by English teachers who are familiar with the challenges of working in the financial industry.

1. Programme Features

Specific – The English for Finance and Banking Programme is designed around the vocabulary, sentence structures and skills that Vietnamese architects need to successfully work in financial or banking corporations that use English.

Industry relevant – Teaching, practise and skills will use material and language taken topics to related to financial statements, FOREX, risk management, retail banking, insurance, loans and the marketing of financial services.

Competency-based – We focus on developing specific competencies in 4 key language skills – Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

Integrated – Grammar and Vocabulary are integrated into the learning of the 4 key language skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing.

Concentrated – Students are exposed to extended interaction with native speaker teachers in class and at English Corner. These teachers closely supervise students’ learning to help them use English correctly.

Self-directed – Our special website eTeSL, UCSI’s web-based window to the world’s best English language learning and practice resources, is available to all UCSI students to use for further self-study

2. Graduates of the programme will be able to

Master and use key terminology in the field of Finance and Banking

Read financial documents and data and discuss the contents with confidence

Converse clearly and fluently at work with native English speakers on professional issues and topics

Draft clear, accurate and concise written reports and plans in English

Make presentations confidently at different kinds of proposals to different people – Board of Directors, investors, clients etc.

3. Programme Information

  • Schedule: Monday to Saturday.
  • Programme Courses – The whole programme has 3 modules. Every module is 54 hours over 3 months.
  • Entry Requirements: IELTS 4.5 or its equivalent.
